adverts

M&M Advert M&M were first introduced by a man named Forrest Mars in 1941. Sir Forrest came up with the idea for the chocolates after witnessing a solider eat chocolate pellets with a hard shell during the Spanish Civil War. The chocolates were being made with a hard shell so that the soldiers could carry them round in the war during the warm weather. However, the first advertisement for the chocolates was in 1954 and was black and white. It showed M&M characters, one was plain and the other had a peanut, they were diving into a chocolate pool. Now, M&M's are the flagship product of the Mars Wrigley Confectionery division of Mars, Incorporated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBLvKRRWqRE Streetwalk-2005 Keyboard-2008 Family, 1-2009 Family, 2-2009 Family,3-2010 Hungry eyes-2011 Great taste and game all in one-2012 Devour-2013 Antartica-2013 Me-2013 Me+we-2013 Meme-2013 Alden-2013 Jes...

shot list

Image
This is my shot list of the pictures I am going to use on my own magazine, my magazine is based around the music genre "house", therefore I used the idea of getting a house DJ playing in an event, to act like a promotion project. I created this shot list on Microsoft PowerPoint, creating a table to be 5x9 with the shot number, if it is internal or external, the location the shot is being taken, the description of the shot and if any support is being given to help take the shit.

typography

Image
This is my typography that I created on an A4 page in my exercise book. I used my second name as my example and used the different examples that where given to us to recreate them pieces of typography but using my second name instead.

double page spread

Image
This is my double page spread that I have created on the adobe indesign platform. I based this design off a magazine that I had seen previously but I then added my own headline, which is FASHION, strapline, which is What do these people have in common? also this is a box out because I added a red colour to the background of this text box, logo, images and added the lorum ipsum text into 3 different columns. Firstly, I opened up photoshop and placed an image of a moon and I used the magic wand and the rubber tool to remove the background and then saved it again as a JPEG image so it can be placed on the top left of the page. I then added two text boxes across the top of the page; one for the headline and one for the strapline. After this, I had 3 columns on both of the pages so there are 6 all together and added the lorum ipsum text in each o them to fill the whole of double page spread. I then inserted a hexagon n added an image of a fashion designer/owner. For example: Kanye ...

working roughs

Image
These are my labelled working roughs of the magazine design that I would like my actual magazine to look like roughly. I made these on a piece of A4 paper by drawing the outline of the actual magazine and then drew 3 pages: the front cover, the contents page and a double page spread, then I drew my own design layout for the magazine. I really enjoyed making these because it allowed me to use my imagination to create a rough idea of how I want my final magazine design to look like. After I created these roughs, I then labelled each feature of the magazine with the terminology that describes that feature.

double page spread thumbnail

Image
This my 2 double page spread thumbnails that I have sketched into my book based on these 2 double page spreads in the newspaper the times. I done these two thumbnails on a single page in my exercise books by using the lengths and widths of a thumbnail and then doing a rough sketch of each of the double page spreads. firstly, I drew the columns and margins and then added the text boxes and the image boxes.

black and white resolution

Image
This is my black and white resolution, I used a black and white picture of Virgil Abloh. I would place one image of him on the photoshop and then pressed image, image size to see the resolution, then I saved that page as a JPEG, then I opened a new document on photoshop and inserted the original image and put the DPI to 5, 10, 20, 72, 100, 150, 200 and 300 DPI. For every image I would change, I would save that as a JPEG and import it on to indesign in the layout above. After all the images where on indesign I would selected file, save as and then save it as an indesign file and then I would select file, export and then save it as JPEG, so I could upload it onto my blogger.
