KERRANG!

The background colour is like a smoke grey colour, with the main cover image being Marilyn Manson who is a famous rockstar, holding a deer's head with the antlers being either side of the masthead which is 'KERRANG!' in big creamy with red stains bubble writing with a red border round being covered in multi-coloured non-lit lights, being partially blocked by Marilyn's head but not to the point where you can't see the masthead. Under the main cover image of Marilyn Manson is his name in block capitals in white so it can stand out against the background for people to be able to read but the letter I has been edited to form some sort of logo linked with Marilyn Manson. Below his name is a selling line that says "in bed with the antichrismas superstar'. In bold, white writing that stands out against the dark background. The term 'superstar' is an adjective for Marilyn Manson and the phrase 'in bed with' suggests that you will know a fair amount of information of Marilyn Manson. In the bottom left and bottom is right are little statements that give the reader a hint of what to expect in the magazine, this gives the audience more of a reason to purchase the magazine.

The background colour is like a smoke grey colour, with the main cover image being all three members of the green day American rock band who cover a large proportion of the page. Being partially covered by the three members but not to the point where you can't see it, is the masthead which is 'KERRANG!' in big grey with bubble writing with a red border round it. Above the masthead is the advertisement of another rock band twenty one pilots. In the front layer of the front cover of the magazine is the name of the rock band in big, white, bold writing standing out against the background so that the audience who might not be able to recognise these three people are able to now as the title of their group is easily seen. Above the band name is said '28 untold stories' this selling line gives readers an interest to the magazine as they will be curious to know what these untold stories are. In the bottom right of the magazine, there seems to be an advertisement of another magazine, it is the bottom right of the cover because in the English language we read left to right and top to bottom so therefore it will be the last thing seen on the cover, hinting at the importance of it being on the cover.
The background of this cover is a very dark red colour with little splatters of blood covering it. The main cover image is the rock band Slipknot, who are partially covering the masthead 'KERRANG!' that is in the same colour of the background but has a thick white border round it which makes the masthead stand out against the background. Above the masthead is the advertisement of two other artists and are names in thick white writing so it stands out against the background and the fact it is at the top hints at the importance of it. Under the name of the band Slipknot, which has been placed in thick white writing for the audience who may not recognise this band are now able to, is the selling line that says 'untold, unseen & unhinged' this gives the audience more of an ambition to buy this magazine as it would intrigue them into wanting to know these untold stories.
