I feel like these copyright laws are fair because say if I have created a piece of work then no one without m permission should be able to use this product. For example: You automatically get copyright protection when you create:

  • original literary, dramatic, musical and artistic work, including illustration and photography
  • original non-literary written work, such as software, web content and databases
  • sound and music recordings
  • film and television recordings
  • broadcasts
  • the layout of published editions of written, dramatic and musical works
so, if I created any of these pieces of work and I add the copyright symbol to ensure people that they need my permission to use this product, then this will protect me in many different ways. For example:
  • copying your work
  • distributing copies of it, whether free of charge or for sale
  • renting or lending copies of your work
  • performing, showing or playing your work in public
  • making an adaptation of your work
  • putting it on the internet
Overall, I think that these laws are fair because it is similar with a a piece of property such as, a car, if someone uses your car without your permission then they have robbed your car and need to be prosecuted for that and therefore with a piece of work they are robbing it and also need to be prosecuted for what they have done.

Some people say that if a product is in a public domain then it is for everyone to use, I disagree with this because again if your car is a public car park doesn't mean that anyone can just use it. If you are the rightful owner of anything then you are and most definitely should be in your right and authority to determine who uses it.
