Unit 23 LO1.4 & 2.1

Repurposing is using something (e.g. a picture, a video, a song etc) and reusing it so that it is different from the original purpose - for example, using an image that is originally used for a visual campaign and repurposing it for a promotional piece for a video game. I have previously repurposed an image which I have taken for photography purposes and used it for an advertising campaign.

There are many different ways to digitise paperwork. For example: you could use a scanner and to use this you put a document face down on the glass, pressing a button to begin the scan, and then saving the file onto your PC's hard drive. But sometimes you will want to select the area of the original you want to scan, or want to lighten or darken the image. Could use a smartphone or tablet to digitise paperwork as well by taking a picture of the work and saving it on the device and using a USB cable transfer the document over.

I have had to digitise a mind map about the L&L regulations. To digitise this I took a picture on my phone of the paper alone and then log on to my blogger and uploaded the image of the work from my camera roll on to a new post and published it and then I logged on to blogger on my laptop to access the post.

JPEG is the best format for images because it is often applied for the processing and storage of full-colour images with realistic elements and brightness and color transitions. It is the most convenient for transmission of compressed images on the Internet, because it takes less space in comparison to other formats

GIF is the best for animations because the animated GIFs are very simple to make using the animation program and the images, If you have different images such as the frames from the film you can easily make a GIF and no special coding of formatting is required when adding the GIF to the webpage as they are normal image files.

AIFF is the best for music tracks because even though they are similar to a WAV file, AIFF files have the added advantage of allowing you to store Metadata, such as album artwork and description tags

MP4 can be used on multiple platforms, thus making it easier to use and distribute. It has a high degree of compression while producing smaller file sizes, thereby making it ideal for video streaming or compressing high definition audio-video files and this is why it is the best format for a video

PDF is the best for a script because graphic Integrity. A PDF displays the exact same content and layout no matter which operating system, device or software application it is viewed on. This is proven to be convenient and secure.
